RE: Activation Key Question
No,the product key for media edition will not work for XP.Also,simply
reformating the hd doesnt qualify for "repair bad sectors",if xp is still to
be installed,boot to xp cd,press r For recovery,in recovery,typeiskPart
In DiskPart,delete the partition,create one,press ESC key,type:CHKDSK C: /R
Once thru,type:EXIT Reboot to xp cd,install xp.
