I am receiving a "Not enough server storage is available to process this
command <1130>. when I execute a shutdown -m \\ComputerName -r. and when our
some of users are trying to print. Thanks for your time and efforts.

W3K Server SP2. 1 Gb Memory
Domain Controller, Acting as a File Server/ Print Server
Windows XP Pro SP2 Environment.

We plan on upgrading memory within this week.

Re: Not Enough Server Storage Error

It has nothing to do with memory or hard drive space. Start searching MS's
site with the exact phrase of parts of the error. There are unfortunately
many different causes for the same error.

This issue is unique to a server depending on what it's role is and what
apps are installed. So it is unique to your situation that must be
researched to find the root cause. Sometimes I see this with an overloaded
machine, especially a DC with numerous apps on it. Keep in mind a DC
disables write behind cache on the drive by default (and cannot be changed)
effectively slowing it down and causing apps to do unexpected things.

What EventIDs are you also seeing? Post the EventIDs and Source name please.

What's your current PagePoolSize in Task Manager? Compare it to one of your
other servers.

What additional apps are installed on this machine? Veritas? Norton AV? IBM
AV? McAfee? An ERP? Dameware? SQL? Exchange? Other 3rd party apps, etc? ...
An application can cause this where when finished with memory allocation, it
does nto release it back into the available pool.

Re: Not Enough Server Storage Error

Thank You. I have noticed that I am receiving the following in system event
log for multiple deleted shares and that my NTMANAGER Service (Event ID
7009) is unable to start. I am going to do a little digging around now that
I may have this info. I will also look into PagePoolSize. Thanks again.

Event ID 2511
The server service was unable to recreate the share Special Services because
the directory D:\Groups\Special Services no longer exists. Please run "net
share Special Services /delete" to delete the share, or recreate the
directory D:\Groups\Special Services.

The server service was unable to recreate the share UA because the directory
D:\Groups\UA no longer exists. Please run "net share UA /delete" to delete
the share, or recreate the directory D:\Groups\UA.
Etc......8 More shares

Installed Apps:
Northern Quota Server, Diskeeper 2007, Symantec Backup Exec Recovery Server,
Symantec 10.X Client.

I can't seem to find anything on the 7009 "NTMANAGER" serviceerror. I know
the Source Name for this event is Service Control Manager, but the NTManager
service doesn't make sense. Is NTManager the actual service name? I don't
think I've ever heard of a Windows native service with that name.
Researching Google landed a 3rd party tool called by that name. Can you
possibly copy/paste the whole error for me to see it? There's a copy button
in the error message you can use to copy to the clipboard, then paste it in
your response.

As for the 2511, it's saying it can't recreate a share because the path
doesn't exist. I noticed they reference D: drive. Are all the errors on
referenced, the 8 more you mentioned, on D: drive as well? If so, I would
take a look if D: drive is ok. Using Computer Management, or specfically
Disk ADministrator, does D: drive show up? Is D: drive a hardware (SCSI or
SATA based) RAID or just an additonal physical harddrive?

1. Is this machine part of a Cluster?
2. Is Northern Quota Server a resource consumer (memory, hard drive, cpu,
etc)?
3. Looking in Task Manager, Performance Tab, what is the amount of Memory
being used (the green bar on the left) and what is the PF Usage (to the
right under the graph)?
4. I know BackupExec can eat up performance and RAM. If Northern Quota does
too, that contributes to resource consumption.
5. Is this machine a domain controller?
