Miss Desktop Shortcuts

For some reason all of the shortcuts on my desktop have disappered. When I
create new one it appears that they are created but nothing is appearing. I
tried changing my display but that didn't work. HELP

show If your desktop icons are hidden, new shortcuts are also hidden. To
hidden icons: rightclick on the desktop > Arrange icons by > Show desktop
icons
