Hi We have just installed 3 new Windows 2003 R2 servers with all the latest
patches but we are having a problem using our proxy server via internet
explorer.

The servers can browse the internet when not connected to the proxy (when we
open the firewall rules) but when we enter the proxy IP address and port into
IE all access fails. Other servers in the same subnet can use the same proxy
server and it is working correctly for all other machines.

You can telnet on port 80 to the proxy and get the correct response so
routing and firewall connections are working correctly.

Any ideas as to how we can resolve this?

Hello James,

Did you compare the ip configuration with the other domain machines?

Re: Internet Explorer can't use proxy server on windows 2003 R2

The subnet, gateway, dns servers and other settings all appear to be the same.
The servers are responding correctly on the network for all other applications
