I have a user that was trying to open their PST file in Outlook, and it was
showing that it could't be accessed. I tried to RDP to the server, and it
gave me a message that "This copy of Windows must be activated with Microsoft
before you can login... Do you want to activate now?". I clicked cancel last
week when it happened, and it rebooted the server. All was fine after
reboot. I clicked No today, and it logged off the RDP session. The user
still can't access the PST file, and I can't RDP to the server. It is
several years old, so it's not a new installation issue. Any ideas?

Re: Windows must be activated.

Hello Ray234,

Some time ago MS added license keys to the list of "cracked" ones. Maybe
yours is also on it. I would phone MS support to clear it. If you have a
correct license it will not be a problem.

..pst files on network drives are not recommended or supported from MS. You
will get problems this way.

Also make sure that the .pst is not read-only.
