TSE & Romaing profiles. Saving Office Autorecover info to roaming

I have been looking all around on the internet to find a solution to this
problem I’m writing you about.

ISSUE:

- This is an example: When a user is using Word and then their
internet line cuts out for some reason.
They logon to the system again. Open word to recover their document. But no
recovery information is shown.
I think this must be because the recovery info is not saved to the roaming
profile. This means that whenever a user have a connection loss or something
that happens so that the user is thrown of our system. They cannot get the
auto recover info.

This is quite annoying.

Is there a way to solve this. So that office auto recover info is saved to
the roaming profile or should we just change the GPO settings for the auto
recover folder?

Technical info:

- TSE System: Citrix & Win2k3 TSE’s.
- Office: 2007 SP1.

If you need more info please let me know. Or if you can redirect me to a
forum or a website where I can find a solution or info on this that’s great
as well.

Thank you very much.

then, the session should go into "disconnected" state and stay alive on the
server.

even when you have allowed "multiple sessions per user", the user should
pickup the old disconnected session.

i don't use office, but i've observered office keeps a temporary file with
the prefix $~. may be this is the recovery info, dunno... there is somewhere
an option in word, to "auto save" the document in a time interval. set it to
1 minute...?

i would suggest, you get the server to "not kill disconnected sessions", so
the user can reconnect and just continue working fine. though still
annoying, but the work isn't lost!

Re: TSE & Romaing profiles. Saving Office Autorecover info to roam

Thank you for your answer jo lteroli.

Yes the sessions goes into disconnected state but if the user does not try
to reconnect for about 10 to 15 minutes the session is disconnected.
And then when the user connects they are directed to a new server.

And sometimes they are not able to get reconnected to a disconnect session
because Citrix does not see the user as disconnected.

Office is set to autosave every 5 minutes. This works fine. But the
information from Office, that autosave recovery info have been saved is not
being saved into the users romaing profile. And therefore Office does not
prompt the user about available recovered documents when they start an Office
program when they are on a new TSE.

Anyone with other suggestions.
