I know that XP Pro only supports up to 2 concurrent connections.

What if I install a PHP forum on a XP pro? Does it mean that only 2 users
can access the site at one time? Or am I wrong?

Thanks.

It's 10, not 2. XP Home is limited to 5.

Do you mean a web server?

XP Pro supports 10 concurrent connections, not 2. So yes, you're wrong.

Note that some of those 10 may be used by other processes.

If you really need a server OS, you shouldn't use XP, Get some sort of
server OS, and if cost is a factor and labour isn't, get a Linux
distribution.

However, there are other issues.

First, many ISPs explicitly prohibit attaching servers to non-commercial
connections. If they detect a server, and they can, they may decide to
terminate your account, or change its status (and the amount you have to
pay).

Second, residential ISP accounts are not symmetrical, meaning that upload
speeds are significantly slower than download. So when users try to access
files from your system, their download speed will be limited by your
system's upload speed.
