Replaced my 15" monitor with a 17" wide screen. The taskbar icons/fonts are
now very small, and the font size in Help is so small as to be unreadable.
I have all the 'icon size' and font size (view) cranked up as high as they
will go.

What to do?

WinXP SP2 IE6 OE6

Try changing the resolution: Rightclick on the desktop > Properties >
Settings tab, then the DPI settings Advanced button > General tab

Re: Icon/Font size on larger monitor

Thanks Rey -
First I should mention the new monitor is 19", not 17"
I tried that. I turned it up to the max number, 120 dpi. That looks really
good. I thought I read somewhere, however, that setting it too high would
cause other problems. Is 120 too high? I see you can also turn that down
by adjustable percentages, maybe I should try that.

Any thoughts on this? Thx again

Re: Icon/Font size on larger monitor

A lesser resolution will increase the size of everything. You might prefer
the effect with that.

1. Right click desktop
2. Properties
3. Settings tab
4. Move the slider

Re: Icon/Font size on larger monitor

I don't know any problems that it may cause. I suggested that fix as a method
like just shaking your monitor, then bring it back to the default DPI. I also
use a 19 inch monitor 120 DPI looks to sharp especially the text so mine set
to default of 96 DPI. A good reading about DPI with lots of info: (below)
