On approximately 5 of our Production IBM blade 8832's we get this error
occasionally. No matter what I have tried it keeps logging these every 10
seconds. Restarting the server resolves the problem, but obviously this is
less than ideal.

According to the conventional wisdom I can find this is due to disk
performance counters being turned off. This being a 2003 server, my
understanding these are always turned on.

Any assistance regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi John,

By default these are supposed to be turned on. Check your
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Perfdisk\Performance\
registry key to see if you have the Disable Performance Counters subkey and
if it is configured with a value of 1, as this will turn off your counters.
To fix this you should be able to either change the value to a 0 or just
delete the Disable Performance Counters subkey.

If that doesnt help you could check out these other possible solutions..

Thanks for a reply.

Unfortunantly, I have been down this road already. I do not have the
"Disable Performance Counters" DWORD value. I have also tried all the other
items listed in the event id link provided. That is why I am stumped.

Any other thoughts out there?

Thanks!
