No, neither other Apps you will need two, one to scan for Viruses and one to
scan for Malware.
Also don't Run the onecare in Real Mode protection, it will make your
experience abit difficult, but all in all good app to have as free for 90
days and you can renew after.

Re: Live OneCare?

It's steadily improving, but not to the level of products like NOD32
and Kaspersky. Asking any good/bad - yes/no question here will
get all kinds of opposing opinions. For AntiVirus a lot of factors go
into a decision. How much are you willing to spend ? If your use of
the PC is mostly day-to-day things and you stay off certain types of
sites then you might do OK with a Free product such as AVG or
Avast.

RE: Live OneCare?

Windows Live One care tries to be everything to everybody.
You are better off with seperate applications; which are not bloated.
Below is a list of good security programs to protect your computer.

http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

Avast Anti-Virus is Vista compatible (32bit and 64bit Versions), FREE,
auto-updating, and a low resources user of your computer.
And, only have 1(one) Anti-Virus installed / running on your computer at any
one time..
Conflicts may occur if you have more than 1(one).

http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

SpywareBlaster 4.1 is a non-intrusive, FREE Anti-Spyware Program that runs
in the background (no scanning by you!).
SpywareBlaster prevents the installation of many so-called spyware, adware
and malware programs by disabling the CLSIDs of popular spyware ActiveX
controls, and also prevents the installation of any of them via a webpage
Update it once a fortnight, and let it do its work in the background!

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Malwarebytes is as the name says, a Malware Remover!
For the Free version scroll down their page to either download from
Download.com, or Major Geeks.com

Download, install, and update.

Re: Live OneCare?

Microsoft recently released Windows OneCare v2.5 and
it is an excellent & comprehensive security program. You
can try it FREE for 90 days.

No.

It's earned the nickname, "No Care".

Get Avast as www.avast.com. It's free and much better than No Care. If
you want to pay, get Kaspersky.

Yes, OneCare's catch rate has improved. But I still won't suggest it.
