Aloha all.
I installed IE8 beta, and now something odd happens on some of my pages (ABC
News, for instances). When there is a photo with a caption, the caption at
first appears correctly, then moves up over the photo and I cannot read the
caption. I cannot find a switch in the options that might control this. I
was able to remove IE8 Beta in the Control Panel, but now cannot reinstall
IE7.
Can anyone help me either fix the text problem, of reinstall IE7?
Thanks!

that's what you get for installing a BETA

Removing IE8B should bring you right back to IE7, unless you removed that as
well. That said..............

Want to let us know why you can't install IE7? Sounds like you
followed the rules right and removed the IE8 okay, at least on the surface.

Hate to sound nasty, but if you were a beta tester you would have done
something like a full image backup of your system before you put a
possible lame software onto your system. That's usually the prescribed
practice, expect it to screw up, its Beta!.

Re: Help with IE8 beta

So, theoretically, I should just wait for the non-beta version to be
released?

Re: Help with IE8 beta

Okay, I downloaded IE7 from MS. But when I tried to install it I was told a
newer version was detected (IE8 beta) so 7 could not be installed. How do I
remove all traces of IE8 beta?
Thanks

No, you should have taken more precautions loading a beta program. Be
aware that its not a fully tested piece of software and be ready to
recover from a catastrophic disaster and or have the tools to remove the
product when it won't, or have the knowledge of exactly how it installed
so you can manually remove it. This is what a true Beta tester does.

That aside, you are here now. There are other responses addressing your
issue. I'll leave you with them. I'm was just pointing out, 'don't
jump in the boat without a life vest'.

So you put BETA software on your computer and are now surprised with
problems? No sympathy here.

By the way, this has nothing to do with XP.

Ask elsewhere

I don't see a lot of response from you on Bruce Hagens question about
how you got where you are. And I see no success comments so I'm
guessing you are still at odds.

If so, then I suggest you google "IE8 beta uninstall" as there seems to
be a lot of hits on this. Something there might help you.
