I have a new server currently as a workstation and I want to promote it to
an active directory (the first one).

when I go to run and enter dcpromo, nothing happens. When I go to Add
Roles, active directory is not in the list. the only items in the list are
Application server, File server, IIS, and Windows server update services.

What am I missing?

Hello moondaddy,

What server version do you have?

Best regards

Thanks Meinolf, I can't believe I left that out of the description. Win
Server 2008 standard - full install.
