Hi ,
I have 3 DL380 G3's running w2k3 sp2 - these are all fresh installs.
All firmware and drivers are patched to date using HP tools etc.
These servers take approximately 10 minutes to shutdown during a reboot.
Shutdown = no response from ping.
I have no error messages, warnings etc in the even logs as these boxes go
down.
watching the boxes on an IP KVM the screen just goes black for 10 mins until
it posts - then after a minute i can rdp onto them.
all have 4Gb RAM, either single or dual 3.2 GHz Intel procs, no 3g/boot.ini
switch.
all other servers NOT DL380 G3 are fine .. i.e. G4's and 5's using the same
build.
I have also gone through and disabled all non-default services, ie HP SNMP,
the service that i actually want to run on these boxes etc to remove them
from the equation. 'shutdown' is now 8mins 30' so it has made a slight
difference.
Any idea's on what could be slowing down a G3 .. presume its that that is
the cause. or anythoughts on what i can monitor as it is going down..
something must be hanging or slow write back etc.
answers on a post card please. beer and pizza in it for you
Cheers
