Hello,

we have a windows 2003 (sp2) terminlalserver enviroment. I've installed a
Brother HL 1450 with an optional paper tray on my local workstation via usb.
If I login to the rdp session I can see my local printer redirected. But the
configuration that I made on my local printer driver (paper tray, duplex
ect.) are not there. If I make the changes on the server they are lost after
logging off.

Is it possible, that the windows termianlserver reads the configuration from
my local workstation?

Thanks

Re: Printer driver configuration on Terminalserver

No, the local settings are not transferred to your session. But you
should be able to save them after configuring them once on the
server. Here's how:

291251 - Non-default printer properties are not reflected in a
Terminal Services redirected printer

Thanks for your reply.

In the printer defaults I can only set the resolution ect. but it isn't
possible to set the printers configuration (options) like paper trays or
duplex engine. Is there a way to change the printer drivers default
configuration for this settings?

Re: Antw: Re: Printer driver configuration on Terminalserver

First of all, I posted the wrong link. Meant to refer you to this
one:

243942 - Terminal Services printer redirection not signaled on
change to server-side Device Settings tab in Windows 2000 or
Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=243942

But now I'm a bit unsure, because in you first post you wrote that
you *can* change the settings on the server, but they are lost
after you close the session (which KB 243942) should fix, but in
your second post you write that you cannot even configure the
settings on the server. If that's the case, then maybe you are
using the fallback driver?
