Hello,
I am running on x64 XP with 8 GB of RAM.
I have issues copying or moving large files, either from drive to drive or
over the network. When this happens my RAM is slowly eaten away until there
is none left and the system starts aggressively paging.
I googled and found this:
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/29912456/file-copy-operations-and.aspx
Which is the same problem, so I know I am not alone.
I'm just wondering if A: anyone else on here has experienced this, and B: if
there is a solution at all?
I should note that neither task manager nor process explorer show my RAM as
being full when copying a file, but I have a little system monitor that runs
on my keyboard, and when I start to do something in Explorer with a large
file I can actually watch the RAM bar fill up, and once it reaches the end
the system starts locking up and freezing.
Thanks,
Edgeman
