Windows Update fails with 800706D3

Hi, I've been limping along with WU for quite a while now. I've been using
it to tell me what updates I need, but the actual updating process has ceased
working. I've been downloading and applying what I need manually. Until
now. Now I can't even get a list of what I need. I'm running W2k SP4 and
here is a fresh log. Please advise.
