I have XP sp 3, IE 7, Nortan AntiVirus 2006 v. 12.8.0.4 and use AOL 9.0 SE.
When I am on AOL, IE7 will frequently open on its own and open new blank
pages continuously, in rapid succession, display "ads.web.aol.com" and lock
the keyboard. The only thing that works is: ctrl-alt-del, end the AOL and
IE7 tasks, then reboot. However, it then routinely starts all over again.
Any suggestions of what I can do to stop this ???

Avoiding AOL works for me. Perhaps ask their tech support what the issue
is?

Re: HELP!? IE7 in uncontrollable continous loop

Sounds like a case of browser hijacking... Use CCleaner to delete cookies
and Temporary Internet Files, and run either A-Squared Free or Malwarebytes
anti-Malware to delete the malware.

Crap Cleaner

Download A-Squared Free

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
