That's probably because the monitor is set to the wrong resolution.
Change it to its optimal resolution and see what happens.

Re: Text Color Changes

Hi - changed from True Color 1024x768 to High Color 1024x768 - same thing -
changed back - not sure how this shows up but changes from as I mentioned -
black to a purple and back.
Thanks for the suggestion.

1024x768 may not be the best dpi resolution; if wrong, pixels bleed over
into the adjacent "dot" and that can be the cause. The color quality
won't help with this effect.

Try a different "Standard", such as 800x600. Note first what it's set
at so you can go back to that resolution.

Can you borrow another monitor as a test? That might narrow down
whether it's the graphics card or the monitor..

Re: Text Color Changes

tried 800x600 also a few others - went back to my standard 1024x768 - looked
ok for over a day - then went back to purple - but people I have asked say
everything they receive is in black - so the problem is what I type - and
actually right now all of this typing is in black - really strange!!!!
thanks again
