Hi all,
W2K3 Enterprise, SP 2.
In the last week or so, my server has been shutting down. There are no
errors in the event log prior to shutting down. Upon restart, I get a WINS
error and more importantly a DCOM errror. I terminal service into this
server to do all my work. WINS isn't a big issue for me, but DCOM is because
without DCOM, I can't terminal service into the server.
DCOM:
Event ID: 10005
DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled
or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting to
start the service RDSessMgr with arguments "-Service" in order to run the
server:
{A6A6F92B-26B5-463B-AE0D-5F361B09C171}
WINS:
EVENT ID: 4165
WINS has encountered an error that caused it to shut down. The exception code
is the second DWORD of the data section. Check previous event log entries
to determine a more specific cause for the error.
Re: WINS
I've deleted the WINS database per MS and allowed the OS to rebuild it, but
still get the problem.
I have not been able to find anything on the DCOM issue. DCOM is my priority
right now.
Thanks,
Bill
