Xp Pro sp2.
My network, Right click on the lan icon. It show only the microsoft client
but no protocols are installed! =8-o
But everything work: browse the workgroup, navigate on Internet, I have a PC
name, workgroup and IP address, BUT I CAN'T NEVER CHANGE ANYMORE because I
have no more access to the TCP protocol icon.
How can I get back the icon under Lan Property?
=== More info:
If I try to fix it reinstalling the tcp/ip I got the nic device to go out of
order FOREVER with a red X in hardware properties and in that case
Reinstalling XP doesn't fix the problem nor Reinstalling Nic driver.
Removing the current nic is impossibile because xp says it is in use.
Trying to remove thru UBCD4Win has no better result because I succeded but
reinstalling make the same problem.
NOTE: ANY OTHER NEW NIC got the same problem so it is not driver problem, is
XP problem.
I am chess mate: I can't move! Any thing I touch to solve this problem (that
is: having the tcp/ip protocol icon into lan property) make the LAN stop
working forever and I solve the problem only restoring the hard disk image
(DriveImageXml or Norton Ghost).
Some ideas other than format/reinstall?
