I just noticed this behavior - whenever I log off as owner and on as guest
account, my owner desktop gets rearranged when I log back on. Real PITA!
Why is this happening now? How can I stop it? Thanks

AFAIR, it is a property of the Guests profile that settings and documents
are not saved. You should use a proper account.

Maybe I wasn't clear in the desciption. It is the OWNER account that is
losing the desktop arrangement, whenever a guest logs on.

Owner logs on... then logs off, Guest logs on then off, Owner logs on again
to find the desktop is no longer organized as it was.

This PITA was happening continually on my systems that are only accessed by
myself. In my case it had nothing to do with Guest accounts. I fixed it some
time ago with a third party app. Save and restore desktop icons.

An excelent tool, but be advised: that you sometimes have to restore the
icon layout more than once before they obligingly pop back to their original
locations.
