The calculator that is with Windows XP is too sensitive as to inputting. Is
there a way to make the input less sensitive? If so, what is it? If not,
what is a decent alternative. (I do not need a "fancy" calculator since I do
only basic math.)

Sincerely,

Barry Karas

Re: calculator

What do you mean, too sensitive? I think you mean your cursor speed, no?

"Sensitive" in what way? You mouse-click on the buttons or press keys, it
responds just the same as any other Windows program....

Re: calculator

Describe "too sesitive as to inputting".

It sounds like your *keyboard* is too sensitive. If you use a mouse, the
digits you input won't repeat.

Re: calculator

You're right...I think.

I input the numbers and operation (+, -, *, and /) by pressing the
appropriate keys, usually in the numberpad section of the keyboard. Yet I do
not want to change the sensitivity of the keyboard since by doing so, it
would foul up my typing text.

Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity only of the numberpad? If so, what
is it?

Sensitivity isn't really the issue. Your problem is that you are holding
down the keys for too long. Either that or there is something wrong with
your keyboard (in that case, I guess sensitivity *would* be the issue).
You might want to try adjusting the Repeat Delay in Control Panel |
Keyboard. Or you might need to replace the keyboard.

Re: calculator

You could be right. My keyboard is about eight years old (I didn't like the
others on my newer PCs). Keyboards are relatively inexpensive. But before
buying, I'll try it out in the store.
