I was setting up new server in a small environment and domain controller has
2 nic setup for internet access.
Inside card set to:IP 192.168.01
SM 255.255.255.0
D/G none
DNS 192.168.01
Outside card set to: ip 10.10.10.11
SM 255.255.255.0
D/G 10.10.10.1 Linksys Router
DNS 4.2.2.2 (public DNS server)
DHCP Range 192.168.0.10-192.168.0.254 DHCP- Server01.office.local
NAT - Internal connection 192.168.0.1 and automatically assign addresses
192.168.0.10-192.168.0.254
External connection 10.10.10.11
The strange thing that happens is after activating RRAS the DHCP server
becomes
server01.mshome.net. I disabled RRAS and dhcp server returned to
server01.office.local.
ipconfig /all from client machine reveals:
host name pcname
primary dns suffix office.local
node type hybrid
ip routing enabled No
win proxy enabled No
DNS suffix search list office.local
mshome.net
upon ipconfig /release and /renew mshome.net becomes office.local
DHCP seems to work correctly with internet access and client getting IP
address.
Has anyone seen this? Any recommendations?
