Since installing SP3 or rather SP3 installing itself my laptop won't connect
to my wirless network and won't show any networks either. It tells me window
can't configure the network.

There is a known issue with certain vendor Network cards after
installing SP3. It's best to update or re-install the current driver
for the Wireless. Check the vendor's website for your particular
model drivers.

See if perhaps there are some updated network card drivers for the NIC
and WiFi adapter. Also, check and see if > Control Panel > Admin.
Tools > Services > Wireless Zero Config. is set to Automatic and that
it has been started.

You may also try installing the hotfix from this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953609

At the top of the page, click "View and request hotfix downloads",
follow the instructions. Let me know how it goes.

You might choose to learn from the experience and DISABLE automatic changes
to your operating system and to your critical programs.
The alternative way is to find out what is being offered and then YOU choose
what to accept.

any network connections after you install Windows XP Service Pack 3
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953979

A Windows XP SP3-based computer loses wireless connectivity when it resumes
from standby or from hibernation, or you receive an error message when you
try to put the computer in standby or in hibernation:

Windows XP SP3-based client computers cannot access the network when some
DHCP information is unavailable
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953761

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and
e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=1173 | select "Windows

Re: SP3 has disconnected my wireless network on my laptop

Thanks for that. I reinstalled the original driver from the makers drivers
disc, had to put in network key again and all is working well now.
