Error Messages - How do I fix this ??

Hello again all,

Back again :-(

For last few days my PC has been coming up with an 'ADD ON' error. The
add-on is AcroPDF.dll, so I worked out how to disable this, but the error
message still come up!

Also to follow this error, this next error comes up (before it just shuts IE
down completley):-

SysFader: IEXPORE.EXE Application Error

The instruction at "0x0508fc89" referenced memory at "0x00000044".
The memory could not be "read".

Click OK to terminate
Click CANCEL to DEBUG

But when I press CANCEL it doesn't DEBUG at all, and when I press OK it
shuts down explorer.

I hope someone can help me and tell me how to fix these problems. I have
Windows XP Home - broadband through set top box.

Hi Caroline,

How did you "disable" it?

You could try a System Restore to a time just prior to the error (Start,
All Programs, Accessories, System Tools).

Or uninstall Acrobat Reader (Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs) and
then reinstall it (www.adobe.com). Better yet, try Foxit Reader.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use (in
conjuction with some other utilities). HijackThis will NOT fix anything on
its own, but it will help you to both identify and remove any
hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22,
http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, or another appropriate forum for review
by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair shop.

Hi Terry,

Well at 18:15 on the same day my whim, was once again solved. From your
expert advice I decided to remove ACROBAT and dowloaded FOXIT and it appears
to have FIXED IT !!! :-)

Remind me to bring my whim's here again when I get a problem I can't fix !!!

Thanks so much Terry you are a true genius and I am learning so much from
you all. Oh I disable the add-on previously, by right clicking on the
short-cut of IE on my desktop and go into the programs tab, at the bottom of
this screen is a button "manage add-ons", and this is where you can enable or
diable add-ons.

again, thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.
