Hi
I have a pc running Win 2k Pro and am trying to isstall Sage accounts with
no success, I have spolen to sage & been told it is a windows file
permissions error.

I am logged onto the PC as a local Administrator
I try to install Sage but get installation error
Sage installs user files in 'Docs & setting\alluser\app data'
If i try & access this folder i get 'Access denied' message
Chcking follder security properties - access is granted to System & Local
users but not Admins.
Uninstaled Sage, changed user folder security setting to allow Admins full
access & deleted folder contents
Reinstalled Sage with same problems
Checking User folder setting - Admins had been removed from seurity settings.

Sage say this is not down to their program, any suggestions?
THanks

Re: File permissions

I strongly suspect that the problem is caused by your lack of attention to
detail, as seen in your own post (which is your calling card to the world).
Here are some examples:
"trying to isstall"
"I have spolen to sage"
"Docs & setting\alluser" (=Documents and Settings\All Users) (note the
missing "s" letters)
"Uninstaled Sage"
Spelling checkers are a wonderful invention, and proof-reading is a must
when you try to project the image of someone who pays attention to detail.

I recommend you do this:
1. Set the correct permissions.
2. Check them.
3. Reboot.
4. Check the permissions again.
5. Install Sage
Don't forget Steps 2 and 4!

You will probably find that everything now works as it should.
