Opening a Jpeg- have to select "open with" every time?
As a test if i set in folder options, to open with IE, instead of the
Windows picture viewer, i log off and back on, it is set back to the
standard viewer again.

also when i just click on the JPEG it does not know what to open it
with, set it and select always open with this. close open again all
ok, log out and back in no good???????????????????????

Your question has nothing to do with Windows Servers. Try posting in a
Windows XP newsgroup (if your OS is Windows XP).

Re: Opening a Jpeg- have to select open with every time????

not xp boxes.

Check your associations for .jpg files.

this app, then reopen, it works.

If you are a server administrator then you would know about the "assoc"
command and about the "File types" tab in Explorer that lets you
examine/modify the type of action that happens when you open a file of a
given extension. If you are not aware of these things then it would be
better for you to seek help in a general Windows newsgroup where someone
would explain these concepts in detail. Respondents tend to assume a fairly
high level of expertise in this server newsgroup.

thank you Monitor for being such an expert,
I was here for help not smart a55 cricisim, you are saying you are an
expert of some kind and they you cant produce any answers, i think
maybe dont have a clue. Maybe you should wodle back over to your
quake server and eat your cheetos, and diet coke.

As already explained 3 times now, i have been to file association
under folder options in windows explorer.
each type of Jpeg, jpg, jpe is associated to windows picture viewer,
BUT
when i double click a jpeg it doesnt know what to open with. i select
open with and always open with windows picture viewer and it opens log
off and then back on and double click a jpeg and i get the same
problem.

I would have asked the same question as Monitor: What does Windows Explorer
report under the "open" action for a .jpg file? File associations are fine
but the "open" action tells you what's really going on.
