Does anyone have experience with these two software for Optimizing
WinXP - Glary Utilities (glaryutilities.com) and Advanced WindowsCare
Personal (io-bit.com)? If you have experience with them and care to
share - how effective and "safe" are they to us in Optimizing
Performance of WinXP with SP3?

Thanks for any comments.

Not much to say on Glary but AWC, forget it.

Thanks,
Apparently you tried it and was not satisfied with the results. Could
you provide a word or two on your experience with it, and why you say
"forget it".

Thanks

I have no specific experience with either of these, but my general
experience and viewpoint is that *all* such software is both
ineffective and dangerous to use.

Thanks Ken,
That's what I was thinking! I think I will stay away from them. I
have a "hardware" firewall and use Norton Antivirus. I have AdAware,
Spybot and SpySweeper that I run manually every couple of weeks, so, I
think I am covered - your think so?

You're welcome. Glad to help.

Well, unfortunately (in my view) you are using Norton Anti-virus,
which in my view is the *worst* available security software. That are
several better anti-virus choices and some of them are free.

I recommend NOD32 if you are willing to pay for it, or Avast! if you
want a freeware anti-virus problem. Both are much better than Norton.

Steer away from these Snakeoil utilities!

A working unsecure OS is infinitely better than non-working secure OS.
Just spent 1 week cleaning up the mess WUpdate made preventing
hypothetical security problems. http://microscum.com/comsense/

With AWC, there's been quite a few posts about how useless it is.
Glary isn't a bad company and has had positive comments made about
their products. Even for the free "Utilities" software. Instead of
Glary Utils, I'd highly recommend CCleaner as it's basically the same
thing, Free, and won't nag you to buy the Pro version when using the
Free version. CCleaner comes higher recommended in many tech circles.
