Hello,

When running "SFC /SCANNOW" by Start>Run> sfc /scannow > Enter, should "Show
hidden files & folders" be checked? Also, should "Hide protected operating
system files (Recommended) be un-ticked? Or does it matter one way or the
other?

TIA

Re: Windows File Checker

Doesn't matter.

RE: Windows File Checker

Thier is no such option for that...Also,"run" doesnt qualify to start
Sfc,only
in cmd will it actually run. Also, read kb310747 For all Sfc cmds.

FYI, just tried Start;Run;sfc /scannow and it did indeed start right
up checking file revs, which seems logical. The OP isn't very clear but
I think the ticks he mentioned were probably in viewing files not sfc.
And the answer to that is still same as someone said; doesn't matter.
