Run a thorough scan by doing the following steps:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete
cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Tabs:

Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing
Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all
non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

I would use the universal recipe: Click Start / Help, then look for help on
"Remote Desktop". There is a highly relevant item there called "Allow other
users . . ."

You don't need to create a user, just enable the PC to accept a session.

But if you want a special user account, its just like any other user
account, control panel.

Also if you have a router or firewall you'll have to set port forwarding
on the router.

A very detailed answer - but how does it relate to creating a Remote Desktop
user?

Hi,
I tried at home to access my work PC last night:

Programs -> Accessories -> Remote Desktop Connection

After entering the IP of my work PC and enter the username.
This username is the one when I back to office to login my PC. However, the
connection is failed. Any idea?

In addition, my workmate can use remote desktop to access his work PC so the
port/router problem should be ignored.

The port/router issue is probably central to this issue. So far you haven't
told us anything about your overall setup, i.e. whether you use a VPN or
whether you use Remote Desktop in direct access mode. These are probably
things that you should discuss with your network administrator.

Hi,

Yes, my network administrator has setup the VPN for me.
He said I use remote desktop to access my work PC from home using the same
login as my work PC login.

Here are a few things I would check:
- Does the VPN work?
- Can you ping the office PC?
- Can you telnet to your office PC on the RDP port?
- What are the router's firewall settings?
- Does RDP work when launched on the internal network?
Since you have a network administrator, he would be the first person you
should ask for help. He knows far more about your system than we do.
