I installed 3 ShoreTel voicemail servers, each running Windows 2003 Server
Appliance Edition. I upgraded each server to SP2, then installed the
ShoreTel voicemail server code. Everything was working fine until we added
the servers into the domain. I noticed that many of the automatic services
no longer started. Assuming that there was a problem with some Group Policy,
I dropped the server out of the domain and returned them to their original
workgroup. The problem, though, persists. The first sign of a problem is the
fact that the COM+ Event System does not start, but gets hung in the
"Starting" mode. In the Event Log is the following message: "The COM+ Event
System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT
was 80004015 from line 150 of
d:\nt\com\complus\src\events\tier2\service.cpp."
I have checked the Microsoft Knowledge base to no avail and have reached a
dead end. Has anyone successfully recovered from this error??
