Hi,
I installed a new philips spc620nc webcam and its software from the
CD.Now I cannot boot into Xp sp2 anymore after restarting. After the
logon screen the loading halts completely and stays there. However i
can login safe mode.I've uninstalled the hw drivers and the Philips
vlounge software ,still can't boot into Xp now. Is the system files/
registry corrupted ? How can I recover ? Don't have a sys restore
point ( disabled it after virus attacks ) !!

Re: Windows Xp not booting after installing philips spc620nc software

Tried it with the error:

Windows File Protection could not be initiate a scan of protected
system files. The specific code is 0x000006ba [The RPC Server is
unavailable.].
tried this :

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/296241/en-us

On reboot its the same error.

Two RPC entries in services.msc is fine.

what could be the resolve ?

=====================

Try this:
- Physically disconnect your machine from the Internet.
- Run msconfig.exe while in Safe Mode, then untick each and every item under
the Startup tab.
- Boot normally

If this does not work:
- Physically disconnect your machine from the Internet.
- Run msconfig.exe while in Safe Mode
- Click the Services tab
- Hide all Microsoft services
- Tick each and every remaining item
- Boot normally

In future think carefully about when to disable/enable System Restore. When
active it can resolve this type of problem very quickly.
