Changing device designation

I have XP. I want to change a DVD drive designation from F: to Z:. How can
I do that?

Use the Windows XP built-in Disk Management Utility. To start the
utility enter Diskmgmt.msc in the Start Menu Run box.

Do that, but be aware that if you use ZoneAlarm there seems to be a
problem using 'Z'. Don't know why, it just doesn't stick.

Another good reason to get rid of Zone Alarm.
