Has anyone tried it? Now, at home, i have one XP machine that serves
for backup (for other PCs and laptops), for p2p and as file server. It
all works very good. Is there any good reason for installing Windows
Home Server instead of XP on that machine? Do i get some new
functionality?

Re: Windows Home Server - experience?

This features look nice:

"Remote Access Gateway - Allows remote access to any connected PC on
the network over the Internet." I don't have to use other software.

"Centralized Backup - Allows backup up to 10 PCs, using Single Instance
Store technology to avoid multiple copies of the same file, even if
that file exists on multiple PCs."

This scares me:

"Data redundancy - Guards against a single drive failure by duplicating
data across multiple drives." It would be bad if Win Home Server
carshes and i can't access that data from bootable Windows PE. I hope
data is easy to acces if i take hdd out of Home Server and connect it
to other pc.

"Expandable Storage - Provides a unified single and easily expandable
storage space, removing the need for drive letters." Same as above.
