I want to create a bootable XP (sp3) cd and perform a clean installation. But
I get an error when I ues the integrate command. The following lines are
extraced from the log file
=====================================================
0.015: 2008/10/16 12:43:01.296 (local)
0.031: c:\d4f1fb4d20a63e044c654d9b44\i386\update\update.exe (version 6.3.13.0)
0.031: Slipstream mode
0.078: Service Pack started with following command line:
/integrate:C:\driver\winxpsp2
3.344: 2409 OnlyUpdatesOfLowerSPIntegrated: media has no integrated
hotfixes (C:\driver\winxpsp2\i386\svcpack.inf is not found).
=====================================================
I' ve tried to use my original xp (ver 2002 sp1a included) & cd with sp2
slipstream from the original one on both Win 2000 and win 98 platforms, both
failed.

so what can i do ? thanks

I have found that nLite takes all of the pain out of slipstreaming and I
wouldn't even consider the "integrate" method again. BTW nLite can also
fully automate the install, embed drivers, remove components, and do a ton
of other useful stuff. And it is free.

Re: Slipstreaming SP3 Failed

Aha...I see Murphy is active in this newsgroup as well.

Some background: I am the real Leonard Grey. The rude post copied below
was not created by me. It was created by a disturbed individual named
Murphy.

Murphy is a very angry person, and he is apparently suffering side
effects from taking Rimonabant (brand name: Zimultri, produced by
Sanofi-Adventis.) . Rimonabant is an anti-obesity drug that has been
documented by the United States FDA to cause severe depression.

Murphy's game is to try to impersonate people in these newsgroups, and
then make rude and even revolting posts in their names. He's done it to
nass, he's done it to me, and to others. Unfortunately, there's nothing
anyone can do about it, AFAIK.

It's not hard to tell the difference between posts made me - the real
me - and Murphy's impersonation. And if you check the headers of my
posts in other newsgroups, you'll see that I use a newsreader, not the
MS web interface.

I do not normally post to this newsgroup, and I won't post to this
thread again, so any other posts in this thread that have my name on
them are coming from Murphy.

To the OP and all others who have genuinely tried to help: I'm sorry
this mess has gotten in the way of your getting the answer you need.

Re: Slipstreaming SP3 Failed

nass ripped me off!
You talk with him!
He forced me to take it. He said we would get away with it.
I am so upset by all this. I am old and broke, with dementia setting in.
