I am running Windows Server 2008 x64. I want me server to take an action
from a batch file if the processor time gets above some threshold. I set up
a data collector set in Reliability and Performance, and set an alert task to
kick of the batch file. I also set it to write an alert to the Application
Event Log.
Neither of these work. If I set a Perf Mon or trace, they operate as
expected. However, when I add Alert, the Alert Action and Alert Taks both
fail. Interestingly, if there is no Alert Action, the data collector set
stops (it will start, then immediately stop with no error.)
This does exactly the same thing on two different servers. It looks like a
bug, is ayone else making it work?
