I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and I recently installed McAfee on it, but
ever since I have a pop up for Windows saying that "McAfee VirusMap
Reporting Module has stopped working and was closed" show up every time
I turn on the computer. I have talked to McAfee and they couldn't solve
the problem. Does anyone have the same problem or knopw how to fix it?

Thanks
Amanda

Yes, uninstall McAfee and install Avast.

Re: Vista And Mcafee

You likely have already uninstalled, then reinstalled McAfee VirusScan,
rebooted, etc., ... If not, you may have to download the uninstall software
from McAfee to do a clean uninstall, even if you do install Avast or another
program. Good luck!

I recently bought the Dell XPS 1535M and installed the bundled McAfee
Security Center without a problem.

Make sure you're not signed up for automatic renewal.

Re: Vista And Mcafee

i had mcafee do a clean unistall after they told me to try that to solve
the problem (even though it didnt sound as though they even knew what i
was talking about) and that didnt help at all. In fact it made it worse
because now instead of one pop up message i get two or three.

i was hoping that i wouldnt have to change to another program like
avast because i already payed for this one but i might have to

And if you are talking about paying for McAfee, it should also be
noted that you not only have to pay for McAfee, but it's also one of
the worst choices of such programs available. Several freeware
choices, such as Avast!, are considerably better.
