Windows Vista Vista Crashes After SP1 Installation

After I installed service pack 1 all hell broke loose on my friends
computer which i built. I was getting blue screen of deaths and another
message. I got it to work with a few attempts of system repair, nd when
i restart it, it ruins again. When i attempted to install Service Pack 1
again same thing happenned. I repaired again, picked up the dumps and
error messages. One is :

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen

Locale ID: 1033

How are you installing SP1? Are you doing it through Windows Update or
from the single-file download?

There are several drivers that have known issues with SP1. The Windows
Update version checks and will not offer SP1 if it finds one of them
installed. I don't think the standalone SP1 will do that.
