Hi, Can someone give me some advice?
SP3 has been loading for almost a week on my machine... using 2% CPU and
483 meg.. nothing else running , although SPYDOCTOR was still runnign and I
shut it down...
It IS getting through the files, as the names keep changing, but this is
ridiculous...
I sm seeing DiSK light happening, but once again, at a snails pace...

thanks in advance...

Re: SP3 has been loading for a WEEK!!!

Not a normal condition at all. How is SP3 being applied ? - By way
of Microsoft Update or the IT or Stand-Alone package ?

It's going to be necessary to cancel, but you'll have to wait out the
roll back process to restore the previous service pack state.

If you have broadband I would suggest downloading the IT package
of Service Pack 3.

Once downloaded, boot your computer to Safe Mode and start the
Service Pack install from that mode.

Re: SP3 has been loading for a WEEK!!!

Thanks.. It was from the AUTOMATED Download process.. didn't even realise it
was there until it came up and said.. HIT YES TO INSTALL UPDATES.. it's
only because i clicked CUSTOMIZE that i realised it was SP3..

Microsoft may need to look at how that's being delivered to the
unsuspecting..

Anyway.. I will take all 3 answers into consideration..

Thanks again...

BTW.. I had an emaii advising me that there were replies, but when I click
on the link, it takes me to a clean IE7 session and has DONE in bottom left
corner and a get a blank page... oh well.. not to worry.. I found the post
again obviously...

thanks again.. Peter G.

guru's and wil let you all know through this thread how i go eventually..
may take a couple of weeks at my pace.. :)
