You'll probably have better luck contacting the application developer.

Program hangs

I have an accounting program that I haven't used for several months. It is
designed for Windows 2000, but when I execute the program, it freezes
without opening. I tried uninstalling the program, but when I went to
re-install the program, the computer froze.

I booted up in the Safe mode, and I was able to install the program from a
CD, and I was able to execute it, as normal. But, when I booted up again
normally, I still was not able to access the program. There is something
that my computer doesn't like about this piece of software.

Other than the occasional Windows Updates that have occurred since I last
used the program, the only other system change was the addition of an HP
All-in-One printer.

Might someone have some thoughts as to what is causing program this hang?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Program hangs

I believe that it has been acquired by another company. Regardless, I now
have a second software program (another vendor) that is doing the same
thing. That's why I thought that this might be a system-related problem.

Re: Program hangs

Thanks for your prompt attention to my problem.

If booting up in the Safe mode didn't mess up the placement of the desktop
icons so, I'd almost be tempted to follow that route when running these two
programs!

Re: Program hangs

Now, if that isn't the neatest darn thing! I should have more computer
problems in order to uncover fixes like the one you pointed out. My thanks
for your taking the time to pass such info along.
