My computer automatically updated but after it restarted and all the updates
were successful I no longer have Audio. The little sound icon at the bottom
of my screen reads "No Audio output device is installed" and is shows a RED X
on the speaker icon. I've tried updateing the driver which indicates that
ist updated and I tried rolling back the driver but the button to roll it
back is not highlighted which dosn't allow me to roll it back.
I am running VISTA and these are the updates that were installed that took
my audio away.

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista (KB956390)
Security Update for Windows Vista (KB956841)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (KB955470)
Security Update for Windows Vista (KB957095)
Security Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB955936)
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - October 2008 (KB890830)
Security Update for Windows Vista (KB954211)
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2002 (KB956464)
Update for Windows Mail Junk E-mail Filter [October 2008] (KB905866)
Cumulative Security Update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows Vista (KB956391)
Security Update for Microsoft Excel 2002 (KB955464)

What do I do to fix this issue? Please Help!

Jarmas, I too had a similar problem when I started my Toshiba Satelite U300
running Vista Home this morning with a similar message of no audio device
installed. I did a restore back prior to the latest update from Windows and
it seems to be working again. So I suggest you just restore and see what
happens. Liam

The Vista Gods smiled on me.

I did a second restart after installing updates and the audio device
was magically restored. No uninstall needed.
