I'm sorry but this isn't enough information to get focused help. Please take
a look at these links to see what details you need to include so we can
help you:

And what is a "system lock"?

Re: program lock

its a thing that locks up a program or your computer but in my case its a
program.

Let me try to parse your paragraph (this time with periods)

--- begin quote
Ok, let me fix that.
What I'm saying is all of a sudden my programs will not shut down.
The computer has put a system lock on it.
I don't know how this happened.
--- end quote

Please answer the following question:

* "my programs" - What programs?
* "will not shut down" - What do you mean "shut down?" Do you mean normal
termination of an application program or a system shut down?
* "system lock" - What is a 'system lock?' What evidence do you have that
there is such a thing as a 'system lock' and that it's being applied to your
program(s)?

OK, Kyle. It would have been much better if you'd bothered to go to the
links I gave you so you would have provided the missing information. At
this point, you've posted twice more and still not given us anything
concrete so we can help you.

Here is some general troubleshooting for you to do. If you can't do it or
won't post back with details so we can help you, take the machine to a
professional computer repair shop. I don't recommend using a
BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place.

1. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what
changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

2. The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

3. Shutdown issues are generally caused by a program and/or process that is
refusing to exit gracefully. The program and/or process can be from malware
or can be legitimate (such as an invasive antivirus like Norton or McAfee).
If you are using a Norton or McAfee product, uninstall it and replace with
a better program such as NOD32, Kasperksy, or Avast (free). The Windows
Firewall is adequate for most people. With Vista, shutdown issues can also
be caused by old/poorly written drivers so make sure all drivers are
updated. See Step B. below for general driver directions.

A.The first step is always to make sure your computer is virus/malware free.

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

B. Drivers - The First Law of Driver Updates is "if it ain't broke, don't
fix it". Normally if everything is working you want to leave things as they
are. The exception is that heavy-duty gamers will usually want to update
their video and sound drivers to squeeze every last bit of performance out
of the hardware to get the fastest frame rates. If you're not one of those
people, you don't need to update your drivers if there are no problems you
are trying to solve.

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer
(HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific model
machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor or System Information for Windows.

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html - Belarc Advisor
http://www.gtopala.com/ - System Information for Windows

C. If the computer is virus/malware-free, drivers are current, and no Norton
or McAfee programs are installed, then do clean-boot troubleshooting to see
which program/process is the culprit:

How to perform a clean boot in Vista and XP -

D. If you need more information, here is an excellent shutdown
troubleshooter:

So you have some or all programs *hanging*. Try rebooting Windows in
its safe mode and retest. If there are no hangs, something you load on
Windows startup for normal mode is causing the problem.

Some security products are still active in Windows' safe mode. After
rebooting into safe mode, make sure your anti-virus, anti-malware, HIPS,
or other security software is disabled or not running.

Please use capitalization, punctuation, and structure in your posts.
Compose your posts as if writing to a manager, a teacher (who is going
to grade your post), or to someone that is important to you (like those
from who you are asking help). Sloppy doesn't work well when asking for
help. You want someone OTHER than yourself to understand it. ALWAYS
review your post before submitting it.

This is a joke, right? If it's not, you need to answer the many
questions that have been asked of you. Nobody know what you're talking
about.
