Can't download Adobe Flash Player...

I get to the Adobe Flash Player download page, and then, nothing. The page
just stares back at me like, "What? Expect me to do something?" No bar
appears at the top of the site due to a possible blocked pop-up needing to be
authorized or anything. No, "If your download doesn't start click here." No
further options. Nuthin'! Clues?

Re: Can't download Adobe Flash Player...

Thanks, tried it, still got notta. I even did some troubleshooting per the
site: did some possible permission fixing via the registry and uninstalled
any previous versions that may have been lurking about. After that I tried
to install Flash. Still nothing. So, anything else to try?

Have you tried the standalone installer ? Instead
of using the web based one ?

I found some standalone downloads here. When I had some
problems with installation, this fixed it.

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

The most recent link, is Flash Player 10.

"Download the Adobe Flash Player 10 Update for Windows and Macintosh (ZIP, 41.8 MB)"

--> http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flash_player_update1_flash10.zip

Players\Release\Install Flash Player 10 ActiveX.exe # Install Flash For IE.
Players\Release\Install Flash Player 10 Plugin.exe # Install Flash for Firefox.
Players\Release\FlashPlayer.exe # Standalone player app.

I've read of the odd problem with Flash Player 10, so you can also try one of
the other ones if you want. The naming scheme can be different in each ZIP,
so the needed installer file might not be in exactly the same directory,
or have the same kind of file name.

Also, at the bottom of the download page, is an uninstaller.

Paul

* Download Now * ?

Re: Can't download Adobe Flash Player...

Doesn't offer me any opportunity to download anything. The page is just
dormant.

Re: Can't download Adobe Flash Player...

Have you tried a different browser?...the one that you are using
may be screwed in that it can't interpret properly. Nobody that
I know has such trouble on the Adobe site.

Re: Can't download Adobe Flash Player...

I haven't tried that. Thing is, I downloaded and installed Shockwave from
their site with no problem using the same browser. I don't get it.

Re: Can't download Adobe Flash Player...

I use the Avant browser and it works fine. Firefox should work
fine also. Won't hurt to try them. If another browser works let
us know.

Re: Can't download Adobe Flash Player...

Still nothing. As I've said before, I downloaded and installed Shockwave
with no problems whatsoever. The same can't be said for Flash.

I just did this today with FF 3 and had no problems. IE 6 will probably
require you to click the bar to allow installation of the Active X
control (and IE 6 will also install Google Toolbar if you don't remember
to uncheck the box).

If nothing happens when you just click the "Agree and Install Now"
button, try right clicking and (in FF) "save link as" or (in IE 6) "save
target as". Once the installer has downloaded, close all browsers and
run the installer.

This is the page you should be looking at
