Do you have games from places other than Bigfishgames to test with ?
Do you know whether the games use 3D effects ?
To test my (older) computers and their graphics, I try this program.
It benchmarks the DirectX performance of the computer and graphics.
You can download the ~40MB package, install it, do the benchmark,
and see whether your computer shuts off when this is running or not.

To test just your CPU and memory are working well, there is
a program called Prime95 that does a good job. Ideally, you'd
want to run it for a few hours, and during that time there
should be no errors reported. If you see errors, it means
either memory, Northbridge (part of motherboard), or CPU
has a problem, with memory being a suspect. I like this version,
because it can test a quad core just as easily as my old
single core Celeron. When it asks whether you want to "join
GIMPs", say no, as you're "just testing". The custom dialog
allows the amount of memory to be tested, to be adjusted
if you want (reduce the value, if you want to do other
work on the computer while the test runs). After that, the
torture test should start running. You can stop it after
a few hours, which should be enough time to prove the
computer works OK.

If your computer shuts off immediately, when the actual
testing starts under Prime95, then you'd suspect either
a problem with CPU overheat, or perhaps a power supply
problem caused by the stress of running a demanding
application. A properly designed computer should not
be affected by anything the user does, and if a
computer "falls over", then something is not right
with it.
You can use Siteadvisor, to get some info about the
site, and decide whether you can trust them or not.
