Using XP Home and out of the blue, I get this blue screen saying quote "
\systemroot\system32\config\DEFAULT "

How can I resolve this issue? Does this means my hdd is spolit? Please
advice, thanks

DEFAULT is one of the registry hives. Does out of the blue mean your
computer is running and the message suddenly appears or does it appear while
starting up? If while starting up the message appears, I would say this
registry hive is corrupt and not loading. There are ways to restore a
working copy of your hives by using a XP disk to boot from, to get to a
recovery console and enter a bunch of commands. Too much to list here now
without knowing if your computer starts or not. Can you be more clear when
the message appears?
