hello
I hvae 2 new 2008 TSE

i like on TSE to make loopback process, to block a lot of things

for this new server i try to block the drive c

so i make a new gpo to do that
i apply it on the 2 servers
on one (server1) it work great and it doesn't on the other(server2) , my
user can see the drive c

for information:
- i test with the same user
- normaly the differences between the 2 servers arer that on server 2 i
instal more softwer
- i try to reinstall server2 and i have the same pb
i have a warning when i start a gpresult for my user on server2:

in the machine_configuration, under status of the component and registry,
but no information

just i must read the event log, but there is nothing for my user and between
the date ....

thanks a lot

Enable verbose logging and see if that gives you more information
about the error.

RE: loopback process has problem

Hi,

From your description, I understand you define loopback in group policy. As
a result, one server has successfully applied this policy, but the other
fails.

Because loopback setting is computer based group policy, it doesn't have
too much relation with user accounts. According to the error, please check
the following aspects:

1)Please check if these two server account are in the same OU.
2)What method do you use to define loopback? merge or replace?
3)If you logon to server2 as administrator account and run gpresult /v,
what is the result?
4)double-check if authenticated users have 'read and apply' permission for
the group policy including loopback setting?
5)If you logon to server2 locally, dose group policy defined on DC take
effect

Hope this helps.

Sincerely
