I don't know how to search through all of the newsgroup messages to find a
particular subject of interest. Can someone walk me through the process?

I would like to be able to find answers without posting a new message on the
same subject.

The best and easiest way is to use Google advanced
search at http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=&

Have you tried clicking view---sort by--- subject?

Re: Newsgroup Searching

Thanks to you both for your suggestions . . . I'll work on both.

I want to be able to find answers if they are somewhere in the Newsgroup.

Re: Newsgroup Searching

If you're accessing the newsgroup via Outlook Express and have download only
(or primarily) the headers, you'll only be able to search on words or
phrases in the Subject. To be able to search message contents, you'd have
to download all of the message bodies.

Easiest is to search Google Groups archive; e.g.,
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/topics

Re: Newsgroup Searching

Thank you . . . that's the one I'll use.
