Hi:
For many months now I get daily failures on KB948109 - SQL 2005 sp2. It
fails with code 0x64c. I had an unsatisfactory interchange with a Microsoft
technician about it, and he just said to remove SQL. But it's part of Office
2007 and I can't. I have screenshots of the errors, the upshot of which is
that it can't find a path to "sqlrun_sql.msi" - and the old search thing
can't find it either, so I'm not surprised.
This is an XP sp3 machine, BitDefender as anti-virus, MemoPal as online
backup.
The problem may have started when I installed a new hard drive and migrated
to it as my system (boot) disk - everything worked after the migration except
Outlook Business Contact Manager (which uses SQL) - I changed the SQL login
and got it working, but all the Office icons (word, excel, etc.) look the
same (generic), and now SQL seems to work, but is broken enough that it can't
be patched.
Any ideas?
Thanks and happy trails,
Stuart
