When I try to view an html file in briefcase windows tells me the briefcase
is in use on another computer. There is no other computer just this one. If I
copy the html file I wish to view to the desktop, then I can view it. How can
I fix this?

Re: Briefcase not working correctly.

Hi Harold,

Reboot the computer and try again. If it still fails, then create a new
Briefcase. Next open it and close it. Now create a Desktop Shortcut to that
Briefcase. Move that shortcut to Send To.

Open the old Briefcase. Highlight all. Then click File > Send To > and
choose New Briefcase. After all is copied, close that Briefcase and drag to
Recycle Bin and delete it. Also Use Explore to manually delete all
Sub-folders and files within your \Temp Folders. Run Disk Cleanup. Try the
situation again.

RE: Briefcase not working correctly.

Are you opening the file by opening windows explorer and navigating to the
directory? Or are you in an application (such as internet explorer) and going
to the File menu and selecting "Open."?

If there is a Windows Explorer window open showing the contents of the
briefcase, attemtping to open a file in the briefcase from inside an
application will result in an error message stating "The Briefcase is in use
on another computer. Close the Briefcase on that computer and try again."

If this is the case, you need to close the Windows Explorer window first.
Then try opening the file in your application.

This is immensely annoying. I am trying to find a workaround.
