Re: shutting down
I Use XP and Created a Shutdown Quicklaunch/Desktop Icon..
Create a "Shutdown.bat" file containing...
C:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 0 -c "User
ShutDown" -d up:2:2
then Create a shortcut on your desktop to it, Changing the
Icon to what you will recognise as shutdown.
See the info on Shutdown.exe in XX Help
